We’ve become bored with watching actors give us phony emotions. We are tired of pyrotechnics and special effects.

okay i lied there is something i could add

WILLIAM HARTNELL ACTUALLY WENT TO CHILDREN’S HOSPITALS, DECKED OUT IN FULL DOCTOR COSTUME TO VISIT KIDS.

HE LOVED CHILDREN AND THEY LOVED HIM

HE WAS A BIG OLD SOFTIE ACTUAL GRANDPA IN REAL LIFE WHO TOOK THE ROLE AS THE DOCTOR BECAUSE OF HIS GRANDKIDS

HE MIGHT OF FLUFFED UP LINES A LOT BUT THAT JUST MADE HIM ENDEARING PLUS SHOWS BACK THEN ONLY GOT ONE TAKE SO IT WAS THAT OR NOTHING

HE WAS HONESTLY VERY UPSET WHEN JACKIE HILL AND WILLIAM RUSSELL DECIDED TO LEAVE THE SHOW

HE HAD TO DO SUSAN’S GOODBYE SPEECH THREE TIMES, WHICH ALMOST NEVER HAPPENED BACK THEN, BECAUSE HE KEPT CRACKING AND TEARING UP BECAUSE CAROLE ANN FORD WAS STANDING RIGHT THERE

HE STARTED TO THINK OF CAROLE AS HIS OWN GRANDDAUGHTER AND EVEN TRIED TO TAKE AWAY CHAMPAGNE ONCE BECAUSE HE THOUGHT SHE WAS TOO YOUNG FOR IT

HE AND CAROLE TALKED ABOUT SUSAN’S BACKSTORY AND WHERE THEY CAME FROM SINCE THE SHOW DIDN’T

HE WAS HONEST TO GOD ON HIS DEATH BED FOR HIS LAST APPEARANCE AS THE DOCTOR IN THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY, WHICH WAS ALSO HIS LAST ACTING PIECE AS A WHOLE, AND HE NEEDED CUE CARDS BECAUSE HIS MEMORY WAS FAILING BUT HE STILL FUCKING DID IT

HE BELIEVED THE SHOW WOULD LAST FOREVER

AND IT HAS

AND IF YOU INSULT WILLIAM HARTNELL YOU ARE INSULTING A WONDERFUL OLD GENTLEMAN WHO LOVED THE SHOW AS MUCH AS YOU DO, MAYBE EVEN MORE.
